Google Calendar
The Google Calendar integration lets Althea read your calendar for meeting context or manage events when you explicitly authorize scheduling access.
Access Levels
Section titled “Access Levels”Google Calendar has two connection modes.
Briefings (View Only)
Section titled “Briefings (View Only)”View-only access lets Althea read calendar events without modifying them. Use this mode when you want schedule awareness, meeting preparation, and calendar briefings without giving the agent permission to create or edit events.
View-only access supports prompts like:
“What meetings do I have tomorrow?”
“Brief me on my next three meetings.”
“Do I have any open time on Friday afternoon?”
Full Assistant
Section titled “Full Assistant”Full Assistant access lets Althea create, update, and delete calendar events at your direction. Use this mode when you want Althea to coordinate follow-up meetings, move existing events, or create reminders.
Full Assistant access supports prompts like:
“Schedule a 30-minute follow-up with Nasim tomorrow afternoon.”
“Move my 3pm meeting to Thursday if there is an open slot.”
“Create an all-day event called Vacation next Monday.”
Open settings by clicking your profile icon in the top right corner.
Navigate to Google Calendar under Integrations.
Choose the access level you want:
- Connect View-Only for meeting briefings and schedule lookup.
- Connect Assistant for read/write calendar management.
Althea redirects you to Google to authorize the selected scope. After approval, you return to the Calendar integration panel and the selected mode appears as connected.
How Althea Uses Calendar Data
Section titled “How Althea Uses Calendar Data”For view-only requests, Althea retrieves calendar events and summarizes the relevant details in your local conversation. The Calendar task can list upcoming events, check today’s or tomorrow’s schedule, and answer questions over a specific timeframe.
For scheduling requests, Althea uses the manage connection to create, update, or delete events. The agent resolves dates and times against your browser timezone and the timezone configured in your Google Calendar.
Disconnect
Section titled “Disconnect”Return to the Google Calendar integration panel and click Disconnect for the access level you want to revoke.
If both modes are connected, disconnecting View Only does not automatically disconnect Full Assistant. Revoke each mode separately.
